A talk about the old Church of Santa Maria officially inaugurates "La Sala" del Castillo

The new cultural space of the Castle of Dénia, "La Sala", was officially inaugurated yesterday Thursday afternoon with the celebration of the talk The church of Santa María de la Vila de Dénia. History of the building, reconstruction and virtual anastilosis Dome Vila Vella.

The lecture was given by Professor of the University of Valencia, Juan Carlos Navarro Fajardo, who painstakingly explained the painstaking research conducted for virtually rebuild the vault of that church.

The municipal archaeologist, Josep Gisbert, completed the talk with the description of this Gothic church, which between the fourteenth and eighteenth centuries was the center of religious practices of the city and disappeared in 1708. Gisbert also showed a manuscript of the nineteenth, unpublished until the moment, in which appears a detailed description of the church.
