May 22 from 2013 - 00: 02

Sunday June 2, and in commemoration of the European Bicycle Day (June 3), cyclists take to the streets of the city to raise awareness of the use of the bike and its health benefits.

This was explained yesterday councilors Agenda 21, Vicente chelet; Environment, Juan Carlos Signes and Public Safety, Javier Ygarza, areas that collaborate in the celebration of this day.

The appointment will be 9: 30 hours in the last section of Marqués de Campo, where the participants will concentrate to leave, at 10 in the morning, to make a route of approximately 30 minutes and suitable for all ages. Cyclists will be able to circulate peacefully through Marqués de Campo, Diana, Joan Fuster, Joan Chabàs, Ramón Ortega, Avenida de València, Ronda de les Muralles, Fora Mur, La Mar, Diana and Marqués de Campo to the Red Cross, since they will be closed to traffic.

Chelet explained that this activity puts an end to the programming of the School Agenda 21 for the 2012-2013 academic year, which has focused on the use of bicycles. Signes, for his part, recalled that Dénia currently has more than 15 kilometers of bike lanes and cycle paths in the urban area, to which must be added cycling routes such as the greenway.

To encourage the use of bicycles, Signes announced that a map will be made with cycle routes from which 5.000 copies will be distributed, and he recalled that Dénia has joined the Bicycle Cities Network, an association formed by more than fifty Spanish cities whose purpose is to generate a dynamic of exchange of experiences among the members of the network with the aim of promoting initiatives for the promotion of the bicycle.

As an anecdote, Ygarza explained that the Local Police agents who will open the march of the cyclists will be mounted on the bicycles that are currently used to carry out surveillance by areas such as Les Rotes.

The day bicicletada will end with children's activities, music and games to install on the last leg of Marqués de Campo.

ideas that can be copied… .. pedestrians to sidewalks and pedestrian streets…. bikes .. to cycle lanes and cycle streets .. cars to respect both… .. and public bodies provide parking where to leave the car and use the legs
