This morning, the City Council of Dénia has presented the news of the new summer season on the beaches of the city. In this press conference, the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, has announced the measure that they will undertake as a novelty this year to avoid the large traffic jams that form every summer at the end of Les Rotes.

The main objective of the City Council this year is to end the summer caps that become the usual landscape of Les Rotes on the dates of greatest influx of tourists and residents to the coves of the place. It is, as the mayor indicates, traffic jams caused by the insistence of bathers to park in front of the towel, when the place has almost no parking capacity. These, in addition, are very dangerous in case of emergencies, since they prevent rapid access of health services to the area.

For this reason, they opted to acquire the land of the old miniature golf to turn them into a public parking lot where they can leave cars, motorcycles and caravans, having only to walk a few meters to get to the beach. However, this year it is also planned to have a continuous transport service from the parking lot to the end of Les Rotes by minibus or train, to bring the owners of the 140 vehicles that fit in this free parking lot closer.

A barrier to reserve car access

But the great novelty is that a barrier with its respective sentry box will be placed at the end of Les Rotes to prevent the passage of visitors to the area and thus avoid these plugs. In it, a security guard will prohibit access to all vehicles except customers of restaurants in the area, neighbors and the visits they may receive, excursion companies, professionals, vehicles adapted for people with reduced mobility and emergencies.

The exact location will be on the bridge behind the Mena restaurant, so it will be possible to reach the height of this hotel restaurant to unload the vehicle and return to park it in the public parking lot, since the parking area of that place is private.

This barrier, which is being advanced by Grimalt, which is rather a test that can be adapted later to something more appropriate, will operate from July 1 to August 31 and from 8 a.m. to 18 p.m.
