A month to the sidewalks of Marqués de Campo stop slide

January 13 from 2016 - 12: 08

With the start of the new year, the boring works of the sidewalks of Marqués de Campo street have finally begun, whose marble surface has caused more than one slip for pedestrians, especially on rainy days.

Monday January 11 ripped these works, budgeted at 35.000 euros, which will stretch for more than a month and that will improve the state of 1.900 square meters. Work began in the area near the port, on the sidewalk of the even numbers, and operators will work in sections.

Workers handle an abrasive saw that leave the rough surface and allow better adherence to the sidewalk, avoiding slips caused by water or the leaves of the plane trees that exist across the street.

A few months ago, City Council met with residents and businesses in the main commercial artery of the city to address the problems of the street, and it was agreed that rip off work after the holidays to avoid causing problems for traders and restaurateurs. A second step would be improved street paving.
