'Smile… you are wonderful', the project that aims to promote the breast health of women in the Marina Alta

With the aim of promoting the global and mammary health of the women of the Marina Alta has been born Smile, you are wonderful. It is a project created by Begoña Patiño, surgeon specialist in breast disease, in the Department of Health of Dénia and Raquel Ordúñez, technical specialist in diagnostic radio in the breast cancer prevention unit at the Center for Public Health of Dénia .

Through Smile, you are wonderful, it is intended to transmit in a more direct and participative way the importance of self-exploration and mammography at the indicated ages, as well as to promote healthy lifestyles through informative, participative talks and breast self-exploration workshops.

According to Dr. Patiño: «se trata de informar sobre las medidas de prevención del cáncer de mama. Es importante abandonar los hábitos nocivos y optar por un estilo de vida saludable, realizar una correcta autoexploración mamaria una vez al mes y acudir al médico para las mamografías».

Smile, you are wonderful was awarded last week at the awards 100 × 100 Fundació, obtaining the first prize in the social section. The prize is endowed with 2.000 € that will be invested in the acquisition and manufacture of specialized models of Breast Self-Exploration.
