1.200 tons of algae removed from the beaches of Denia after the storm

The cleaning work on the beaches of Dénia has not stopped since last Thursday. Special teams have since removed a total of 1.200 tonnes of seaweed from the city's beaches. The cleaning device has acted on the beaches of Marineta Cassiana; Punta del Raset, up to the Regatxo del Sarch; and Punta dels Molins, at the height of the Bahía Azul urbanization.

During the storm, the sea spewed seaweed to 15 meters inland. Before its withdrawal, the algae crawl, mixed with the sand, to the shore so that the sea returns them clean, and thus avoid the loss of sand. It is at that moment when they can be withdrawn.

During this Sunday the works have focused on the conditioning of the north breakwater beach, where at 20:00 p.m. the landing act of the Moors and Christians festivities of Dénia is scheduled.
