1.200 tons of algae removed from the beaches of Denia after the storm

August 13 from 2017 - 18: 23

Cleaning work on the beaches Denia have not stopped since last Thursday. Special teams have since removed a total of 1.200 tons of seaweed from the city's beaches. The cleaning device has acted on the beaches of the Marineta Cassiana; Punta del Raset, up to the Regatxo del Sarch; and Punta dels Molins, at the height of the Bahía Azul urbanization.

During the storm, the sea spewed seaweed to 15 meters inland. Before its withdrawal, the algae crawl, mixed with the sand, to the shore so that the sea returns them clean, and thus avoid the loss of sand. It is at that moment when they can be withdrawn.

During this Sunday the works have been focused on the conditioning of the beach of the north breakwater, where to the 20: 00 hours is planned the act of disembarkation of the celebrations of Moors and Christians Denia.

The beaches of Denia are fantastic, but I think they would improve if you had showers as there are in most beaches in the rest of the country. It is super uncomfortable to leave the beach full of sand and salt

  2. Luis says:

It would be Tourismphobia if it were an action directed exclusively to the Tourists. It is Desidia and lack of proper management by the City, as it is another abandonment of their obligations, as we have been accustomed to the neighbors throughout the year. Years ago, whoever the Political Party that is in charge Denia suffers from the care and public services that it deserves. They only move for the interest of some few affines to them. Managing the public is too much a concept for them.

  3. Azucena says:

I agree. A week after the storm the beaches are still dirty and in some places with bad smell. This gives a very bad image not to mention the poor sanitation. I do not know how they manage in other places of the coast so that their beaches look great and clean. Someone should take note. We are in August and the city is full of people. There is no right. Or is this an example of tourismophobia?

  4. Paloma says:

It seems embarrassing to me that the beaches of Denia are to themselves so many days and that Denia lives of the tourism and so many days to if people do not return
