The sailor who had fallen into the water during the 'XXI Canal Cup' was rescued alive

Everything has been in a scare after finding the Valencian sailor who after taking the exit of the "XXI Canal Cup" has fallen into the water at 11: 30 hours of Saturday morning. Eight hours later, the Salvamento Marítimo helicopter has located the 44 yachtsman alive, with symptoms of hypothermia and the same helicopter has transferred it to the airport of Manises (Valencia), where it has landed a few minutes before the 20 hours and a Samu has taken her to the hospital La Fe de Valencia.

The sailor of the Barcelona boat "Oceanic"Fell into the water along with four of his crewmates past the 11: 30 hours to 1,4 miles east of Denia. Only four of them managed to climb back into the boat. The difficult weather conditions caused the loss of sight of SM in just seconds.

The sportswoman has drifted 2 miles

The sportswoman was located at 3, 2 miles southeast of Alicante, which means she has drifted two miles southeast during hours that has been missing, according to Maritime Rescue.

Rescue teams, along with the regatta boats and the organizing committee, performed an exemplary search. After the loss of the sailor, all the boats have returned to the point of loss that marked the boat "Oceanic"To track the area until past the 15: 30 hours. Without success, they returned to land to organize and comb the area again coordinating with the devices of Maritime Rescue (Helimer), Generalitat (Victor 1) and Provincial Consortium of Firemen of Alicante.

At 16 hours, the companion boats of the regatta returned to the sea to comb the area and collaborate with the search work, again, next to the helicopter of the provincial Consortium with pilot, co-pilot, diver, health and two rescuers. They continued the search until 19 hours, while the helicopter of Salvamento Marítimo gave the last laps before dusk.

Wide rescue device

In the search device, coordinated by the Center of Maritime Rescue of Valencia, in addition to the Generalitat helicopters and firefighters and the Hemimer 206 and Helimer 205 of Maritime Rescue, the vessels LS Diana of Red Cross, Salvamar Levante de Salvamento have intervened Maritime and safety boats of the regatta, "Tagomago II"And"Nerissa".
