    OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE OF SONIA MENGOD
    Valencia, November 11 of 2017
Given the importance that the news has reached in relation to the accident I suffered last 7 October 2017 in Denia (Alicante) during the race of the Canal Cup, and since then I have not made any statement, in any sense , as well as the inaccuracy of some of the information that has been published, I felt the need to break my silence.

First of all, I would like to clarify that no one represents me, nor has anyone represented me at any time, or any person, team or entity. On the other hand inform that the vast majority of data about me or the fact itself that have circulated as much by word of mouth as in most of the 100 media in which I have appeared are not true. I will request the rectification at the time.

Before pronouncing myself, I wanted, in view of the gravity of the facts, to contrast my impressions with certain official data, in order to be able to speak with firmness and property at all times.

This does not mean that I am not very grateful to all those people who were interested, worried and turned to me both in my search and in their thoughts, during or after the accident. To those of which I have evidence, I have been thanking him personally, and I will continue to do so as he is informed about it. Of course, I will also do it publicly at the time.

Regarding the day in question, the only person who knows what happened during those 8 hours at sea, without a life jacket and under a storm with rain, wind and waves of more than two and a half meters is me; in the same way that I am the only person who knows what he did to survive, so I ask for patience and understanding, but I would also like to avoid using my name without my consent or at least without comparing any information before with me, since it is my intention to clarify and share everything that happened. Of course. Also, I need it.

As soon as I am in a position to do so, it is my intention to call a press conference that can be attended by any media and person who so wishes, in which I will respond publicly to the questions that are necessary and in which I will explain what happened. It is very important for me in any case to do it knowing the objective official data to be able to do it with the maximum rigor, independently of my impressions, sensations or feelings, which I will also state, of course.

Anyone who is interested in contacting me can do so without hesitation through my email:
soniamengod.com@hotmail.com. I will answer personally delighted.

Thank you very much. A cordial greeting; Sonia Mengod
