Requirements to qualify for Dénia's aid for schooling in the first infant cycle (from 0 to 2 years old)

August 24 from 2023 - 12: 07

The Dénia Governing Board approved yesterday, August 23, the bases for the granting of aid to cover school expenses in the first cycle of children (from 0 to 2 years) for the 2022/2023 academic year.

With a maximum budget of 80.000 euros, grants of 300 euros per son or daughter will be granted. To qualify for the granting of aid, it must be taken into account that the applicant (father, mother or legal guardian) is registered in Dénia and that the student is enrolled in a school in Dénia, La Xara or Jesús Pobre, among other requirements.

The objective, as indicated in the same bases, is to promote the reconciliation of work and family life; In addition, it is stated that education at this stage is a right and constitutes the moment in which the intellectual and socialization bases are created, providing children with healthy habits and good behavior.

Applications will be submitted in person at the OAC or electronically through the electronic headquarters of the Dénia City Council. Once the applications have been evaluated, the provisional lists will be made public and families will have 10 days to present allegations.

It says academic year 2022-2023, isn't it 2023-2024?

  2. Ernesto says:

€80.000 divided by €300 of grants per student = 266,6 students.

Only 266 students in a population of more than 40.000 inhabitants will benefit.

The article does not mention that income is taken into account when distributing aid. So it doesn't matter if you come from a wealthy family, or not? Although it is mentioned that the applications will be evaluated, it is unknown what criteria are taken into account in this evaluation. From my point of view, the families with the greatest difficulties should benefit, not the first to sign up for the list, taking into account that the amount of aid is really limited, 266 in total for all of Dénia. And that maybe a lot of people who need it don't even know about it.

I don't know, at least I have doubts about both the amount and the access to aid itself. It would be a good gesture with the citizens to increase the budget to have a greater reach and reach more families, and at the same time, limit access to them only if it is a family with real economic needs.

      you hallucinate
To begin with, everyone is entitled to this aid, with no limits.
And finally, not 266 students will benefit, but less because this information does not reach everyone.

Well, Dani, perhaps you haven't stopped to think that a family -commonly called "rich"- doesn't need €300 and a needy family does.
