They reward the ICU of the Hospital for research on blood tests more accurate

The nursing staff of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has been distinguished by a research paper presented at the Congress of the Valencian Society of Critical CareHeld in early March in Elche and which have also been present Optional Denia Hospital.

The Scientific Committee unanimously agreed to award the prize to the best communication project Hemolysis in the ICU. As he indicated by Vicent Salvà, supervisor of the ICU of Hospital de Dénia, «the objective of the project was to achieve a significant reduction in the levels of hemolysis in samples taken in the ICU». For this "An intervention plan was designed that included a review of the published scientific evidence, pre- and post-intervention analysis, prior surveys of professionals, training and, finally, the implementation of the agreed measures.". The conclusion was that «After analyzing the data of more than 8.000 samples, it was possible to reduce the levels of hemolysis from 8,9% to 0,63%».
