Paseo del Saladar will lose a large percentage of its parking spaces
One of the main objectives of the Dénia government team is to promote coexistence in the streets by recovering spaces for pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles. The latter, for the moment, is still a great pending issue, since cycling through Dénia must use, yes or yes, the same road as motorized vehicles through a very brief and disconnected network of cycle lanes.
In fact, the City Council of Dénia, as announced this week, has set a series of goals to meet in this area during the next 6 years. In addition to the reduction of speed in the main areas of the city, the elimination of a large number of parking spaces to widen the sidewalks stands out.
In the first phase of this strategy, the one that will see the light, it is assumed, sooner, it is already intended to finish with more than a quarter of the parking spaces of the Paseo del Saladar.
This road is one of the ones that currently has more parking in Dénia, being also relatively close to the center and all services. In the same way, it has great space for pedestrians thanks to its central promenade. Despite all this, it will be among the first to reduce its parking spaces to create more space for people.
Specifically, parking will be prohibited along an entire sidewalk, from Plaza Jaume I to Manuel Latur.

In the same way, battery parking will become a cordon, which will give more space for circulation and will considerably reduce the available parking spaces.
