A car park converted into a green zone and the pedestrianization of the urban center, government objectives in the next two years

Just two years ago the new legislature started in the City of Denia. The government team, made up of PSPV and Compromís, has taken stock of this first half of its mandate and has looked forward to taking the points established in the Pacto del Castillo. At 2015 a total of 96 commitments were signed, of which 46 and other 27 have been implemented.

This year, moreover, they have added to these commitments a ten-point annex with new commitments that have emerged throughout this time of government. Among these new points, it is worth mentioning its intention to pedestrianize not only Marqués de Campo but also the urban center of the city. So explained the deputy mayor, Rafa Carrió, who said that they want to get it but "doing well".

This means, as recalled by the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, that to achieve this goal studies are being carried out in different areas that guarantee the viability of the project and involve all the streets affected in the pedestrianization. These studies will provide the necessary information to assess and decide the actions to be carried out in the face of a pedestrianization of the urban area.

In this sense, the City Council also works on creating a bag of deterrent parking in the city. Those who have already started in areas such as Montgó Avenue, will add this summer the parking next to the restaurant Federico and a parking on the Avenida de Alicante, in front of the Llebeig school. In both cases, the City Council has negotiated with the owners to adapt the parcels in order to facilitate the parking of the vehicles in times of maximum inflow.

Some car parks will be released to the detriment of another that will disappear. It is the intention of the government team to return to the parking lot next to the Hotel Costa Blanca, in front of the train station, the use for which it was created, which is green zone.

According to the mayor explained, the cars will be removed from the area and a recreation area will be set up on that plot, thus gaining a green space next to the city port.

The General Structural Plan for 2018

Among the objectives of the government team has been the approval of the General Structural Plan of the city, by the Generalitat Valenciana, for year 2018. That means that throughout this year the document will be approved by the plenary of the City Council to pass later to the Conselleria for approval, as explained by the mayor of Territorio, Maria Josep Ripoll.

Confidence Plan projects will change the image of the city

2018 is also the year marked for the completion of the Trust Plan projects that have begun to be implemented this year in Denia. Grimalt explained that the unlocking of these works will change the image of the city, some projects that, he recalled "They are not achievements of the Popular Party, it is money that belonged to the citizens of Dénia and they did not know how to manage".
