Paqui Borox receives the Ciutat de Dénia award for the Training of Adults
La Biblioteca de Dénia acogió ayer el acto de entrega del XXIV Premio ‘Ciudad de Dénia’ para la Formación de Personas Adultas, que ha distinguido este año la tarea de la maestra M. Francisca Borox López en este ámbito, «destacando por la vindicación y promoción de una formación permanente valenciana, crítica, activa, popular, trabajadora y ciudadana», según destaca el acta del jurado, que leyó el concejal de Cultura, Raúl García de la Reina.
Paqui Borox has been for many years president of the association for pedagogical renewal in the field of permanent education, TAREPA, from where she has also worked as a trainer of trainers; and has promoted numerous research actions on the training of adults.
En el acto de entrega del galardón, el alcalde de Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, recordaba que la ciudad «es pionera y referente en el reconocimiento del gran valor de la formación de personas adultas y de las personas que, contra viento y marea, han apostado y han creado un sistema sólido de apoyo al aprendizaje permanente».
"This award has the objective of rewarding these people, but also, and above all, of making this great work visible," he highlighted.
The winner, Paqui Borox, very excited, dedicated to the audience present a speech of thanks, but also very demanding in favor of the recognition of the value of adult trainers and the "necessary development of the Vocational Training Law."
