The Dénia Library hosted yesterday the award ceremony of the XXIV 'City of Dénia' Award for the Training of Adults, which has distinguished this year the work of the teacher M. Francisca Borox López in this area, "standing out for the vindication and promotion of a permanent Valencian, critical, active, popular, worker and civic education", according to the jury's minutes, which were read by the Councilor for Culture, Raúl García de la Reina.

Paqui Borox has been for many years president of the association for pedagogical renewal in the field of permanent education, TAREPA, from where she has also worked as a trainer of trainers; and has promoted numerous research actions on the training of adults.

At the award ceremony, the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, recalled that the city "is a pioneer and a benchmark in the recognition of the great value of training adults and people who, through thick and thin, have chosen and created a solid support system for lifelong learning."

"This award has the objective of rewarding those people, but also, and above all, to make this great work visible," he stressed.

The winner, Paqui Borox, very excited, has dedicated a speech of gratitude to the present audience, but also very vindictive in favor of the recognition of the value of adult trainers and the "necessary development of the Professional Training Law".
