Works in Archduke Carlos: past, present and future of a square that citizens earn

November 07 from 2018 - 13: 46

The past month of June began one of the most emblematic works of this legislature, and one of the most awaited by the neighbors of the pending of the Plan Trust: the rehabilitation of the Square Archduke Carlos. Until this year, the square was a bus parking lot, an attempt at a bus station that needed a facelift.

Five months after they started those jobs, the jobs in the square today have a fairly advanced state, although there are still several months of work ahead. According to the Councilor for Territory and Urban Quality, María Josep Ripoll, it is expected that the works will finish at the beginning of 2019.

But as we say, the works are progressing at a good pace. The sidewalks of the western part of the square (Cafetería Cinnamon) are practically finished, as well as the sidewalks of the north zone (Coffee and Tea). At the moment, the workers are working in the interior area of the square, and in fact some of the structures that will make up the definitive appearance of the square can already be seen.

Once the works are completed, Archduke Carlos will become a pedestrian plaza, with green areas, playground, street furniture and shadows to enjoy the space.
