People between 15 and 34 years old represent 57% of the people infected by coronavirus associated with outbreaks in the Valencian Community. The highest incidence of outbreaks, 79,3%, occurs in the social sphere, especially in family gatherings or with friends, according to the General Sub-Directorate of Epidemiology of the Conselleria de Sanidad Universal y Salud Pública.

The analysis of the outbreaks registered during the first three weeks of July reveals that 57,2% of cases associated with them are in adolescents and people in their thirties, followed by the age group of 35 to 64 years, which accounts for 23% of cases associated with outbreaks. "In addition," added Barceló, "we have implemented the vacation and reinforcement plan for all levels of care, and we are accelerating the vaccination campaign in these population groups."

Regarding the areas, the outbreaks associated with social origin continue in the first place (79,3% of the outbreaks and 73,9% of the cases), the majority in the context of family meetings or with friends where the use of the mask and social distance.

"We gather around the table to eat and drink and, on occasions, we remove our mask and forget to raise it when we are not consuming. It may also happen that we do not keep our distance because we feel safe with our own. But it is precisely with those close to us and with loved ones with whom we must be more careful to protect and protect ourselves. Any oversight can cause contagion, "Barceló recalled.

On the other hand, small outbreaks predominate (less than 10 cases). In fact, 85,5% of new outbreaks have fewer than 10 cases, 14,1% have between 10 and 40 cases, and there are 0,5% of more than 40 cases.

Finally, the territorial distribution of outbreaks is correlated with the population figures: of the outbreaks reported in the last three weeks of July, 63% are from the province of Valencia, 24% from Alicante and 13% from Castellón.
