On March 31, the IES Maria Ibars and the Condemned to Curb Association They organized the 2nd “Volta a peu per la Inclusión” in which more than 600 people participated, including students from the center, from the Raquel Payá School and the members of Condemned, with the aim of sharing and enjoying a day of solidarity and recreation.
The idea arose as a result of the existing relationship between the IES Maria Ibars and Condenados, which since 2008 has carried out different activities in its facilities aimed at people with disabilities, in which hundreds of students from the center participate and have participated. as volunteers.
The "Somos Capaces" activity is a project that is carried out at the Institute and is aimed at people with disabilities
Specifically, "Somos Capaces", Municipal School of Adapted Sports of the City Council, is the project that is carried out at the Institute, where a very suitable environment has been created for physical and sports activity, both for students and for people with disabilities, and for many it has become a space to share, enjoy and feel welcomed in a group.
In addition, during the school year and for years, the Association has held awareness days ("We are the same, we are different") to seek and bring to light the reality and needs of people with disabilities, in order to show a positive vision of the group.
In this 2022/23 academic year, and on the occasion of the "Volta", the sessions have been aimed at all the students of the center. One euro has been contributed to participate, leaving open the possibility of collaborating with more. Due to the high number of participants, the test had to be carried out in three batches and was organized by teachers from the center and volunteers from the Association.
The money raised during the event will be used to purchase material for the center
The money raised will go towards the purchase of material for the center, since it will be used both by the students who go to class in the mornings and by all the users of Condenados al Bordillo who carry out activities in the afternoons.
The Raquel Payà School, Condenados al Bordillo, the Dénia City Council and the IES Maria Ibars work together to carry out "We are capable".
The Volta has been carried out thanks to the participation, dedication and enthusiasm of the entire Raquel Payà School, Condenados al Curb, the IES Maria Ibars and its Ampa, and all the students who have lived together for a long time, played, shared and above all enjoyed with the group of people with different capacities.
The collection has been 1.280 euros.
