More than € 25.000 in grants thanks to the new Municipal Library

The Dénia Public Library has received a subsidy of €19.769,73 for all the bibliographic material acquired throughout last year and part of this year. The capital of the Marina Alta thus becomes the third municipality in the entire Valencian Community in terms of amount of money granted. In addition, to that figure must be added another subsidy received of €6.761,93 for reading promotion activities.

The 19 of December of 2018 was resolved by the Department of Education, Research, Culture and Sports, the integration of the Urban Network of Public Libraries of Dénia to the Network of Public Libraries of the Valencian Community and this gives the City Council the possibility to request grants, in addition to other benefits such as the training of library staff, etc.

Until now, the requirements of the 4 / 2011 Law, of 23 of March, of the Generalitat, of Libraries of the Valencian Community, were not being met, but with the inauguration of the new Library of Sant Josep, which exceeds in m2 those required by the aforementioned Law.
