The Dénia Public Library has received a grant of €19.769,73 for all the bibliographic material acquired over the past year and part of this year. The capital of the Marina Alta Thus, it becomes the third municipality in the entire Valencian Community in amount of money granted. In addition, to this figure we must add another grant received of €6.761,93 for activities to encourage reading.
The 19 of December of 2018 was resolved by the Department of Education, Research, Culture and Sports, the integration of the Urban Network of Public Libraries of Dénia to the Network of Public Libraries of the Valencian Community and this gives the City Council the possibility to request grants, in addition to other benefits such as the training of library staff, etc.
Until now, the requirements of the 4 / 2011 Law, of 23 of March, of the Generalitat, of Libraries of the Valencian Community, were not being met, but with the inauguration of the new Library of Sant Josep, which exceeds in m2 those required by the aforementioned Law.
