Marina Dénia and the Hospital San Carlos de Dénia launch a few days of CPR and management of defibrillators

February 15 from 2023 - 14: 26

  • The first workshops will begin in March for the State Security Corps and Forces and will later be open to the general population

This morning, the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, the captain-director of Marina Dénia, Gabriel Martínez, the National Police of Dénia, Juan Sarrión and the manager of the Hospital San Carlos Office from Dénia, Gerson Morales, have presented the days of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and management of defibrillators. These workshops will begin in March for the State Security Corps and Forces and, after these training sessions, they will be open to the general population.

"After the success of the pediatric resuscitation workshops, which we launched a year ago, we wanted to expand this initiative and open it to the general population, together with the San Carlos de Dénia Hospital", commented Gabriel Martínez. “As a representative of the HLA Hospitales Group, it is an honor that you said yes and that we can give the first days to the components of the Civil Guard, the National Police and the Local Police. It is a great initiative, and an example of collaboration and continuous training of the teams that watch over our citizen security. We are happy to collaborate in these new conferences, which from my point of view provide a security value to the citizenry”, Gerson Morales assured.

It will be the Anesthesia and Resuscitation team of the San Carlos Hospital that will carry out these sessions in which they will learn how to perform basic resuscitation and what are the first steps to follow in an emergency situation. They will also learn how to handle the automatic defibrillation equipment that is in many public spaces and has already saved many lives. The conferences will be given by three of the professionals from Dr. Miguel Burguera's team, who currently manages all the hospital's surgical activity and with great success the San Carlos Intermediate Care Unit.

“We are the first to arrive in an emergency situation and that is why these conferences are of vital importance for all of us. We must continue to train continuously and now it is essential to know how the defibrillator works”, Juan Sarrión pointed out. For his part, Vicent Grimalt wanted to thank this initiative “since everything that has to do with training, especially the first to arrive when there is an accident, is of vital importance. Both the Local Police and the city council officials, it is essential that they know how the defibrillator works”.
