A total of 724 students have participated, from the 25 from April to the 27 in May, in the campaign of the Local Police bicycle aimed especially at students of 5º of primary school. This activity, which has completed its twelfth edition, is aimed at improving road safety and changing behaviors from the start of the activity as a driver, adopting positive and responsible attitudes and respecting other drivers.
Although the activity is mainly aimed at students of 5.º, in the EATIM centers all the students have participated and in Raquel Payà, three groups of higher cycles of special education. This year there has also been a special day aimed at students of 1. Primary School Llebeig.
Thanks to this campaign, schoolchildren have learned to use the bicycle with responsibility and without risk, they have become aware of the danger of driving, they have known the rules and signs, and respect for pedestrians, among other things.
The Police has installed in each center its mobile playground that contains road markings, vertical signs and traffic lights, for the simulation of streets, avenues and squares with a rotating direction. In addition, each student receives a diptych with information on bicycle traffic rules.
