The neighborhoods of Dénia, against the ropes due to the rise of rentable premises for parties

August 12 from 2023 - 08: 50

Coexistence in Dénia in summer always hangs by a thread. This is normal in a municipality with an infrastructure that, for two months a year, has to fit four times more people than it is designed for. But, when the current of leisure, and the business fabric around it, is based exclusively on the night, on the party, the two months become twelve. And, of course, coexistence ends up jumping through the air.

Years ago, nightlife venues were allowed to enter the urban area. Dénia has kilometers and kilometers outside the municipality, but left the opening of pubs and discos in places where residents of the city lived. Government after government this has been assumed, avoiding taking a position on the matter. well, it's a lost battle for the neighbors. But now there is a new current that is putting more and more neighborhoods in the city against the ropes, and when it is time to put a stop to it, it seems that they still choose not to act.

We are talking about rentable venues for events. They are really ambiguous businesses, since they offer their space for group rehearsals or for activities such as dance classes. But also for parties, from innocent children's birthdays to bachelor or bachelorette night parties. In fact, the parties that revolve around alcohol consumption and racket are the most common in these spaces.

Without minimum soundproofing or security

These premises we are talking about are rented by the hour, so the tenants on duty feel less responsibility towards the rest of the neighbors. His commitment lasts a few hours, and the next one will be fine.

Loaning premises for this type of private event is nothing new. Some time ago it was done with festive weddings, but it was stopped thanks to constant neighborhood complaints. Pubs in the city also provide their facilities, but, as we will see, in these cases it does not imply hindering the rest of the families who live there (or, at least, not hindering it anymore).

It is possible to fall into the error of thinking that this type of business does not imply any change with respect to what is already being experienced in La Mar or Marqués de Campo. But the difference is quite big. To begin with, these places do not seem to be governed by the same rules as a pub or nightclub. Completely lacking in soundproofing, normally with a single door, which is the one that a place that perhaps used to be a store had in itself. After, They do not have private security that controls that the party does not go outside when smokers accumulate at the door, or that once the event is over it helps the people on the street to disperse. Even neighbors have come to denounce that after finishing one of these parties at dawn, the brass band hired on that occasion continued playing in the street, while they tried unsuccessfully to fall asleep.

Dénia, a great nightlife area

Weekend after weekend. It is not a matter of specific dates or seasons, it is its business model and as such it tries to exploit it whenever it can be opened, to the torture of the neighbors. And, again, unlike established nightlife areas, the local police do not patrol these streets at that time, nor does it carry out continuous control to ensure that there is no alteration of rest.

They continue to open in new areas of the urban area, turning all of Dénia into a great party area. Very lucrative for some, but unbearable for families who want to live in the city.

It is that with this tourism, young people who want to go out have to spend a lot of money, so they look for the video. everything has its perque

  2. Dani says:

Dénia is a city, it is normal for there to be noise.
If you want a town there are many in the Marina Alta.
    People have to adapt.
Dénia is not going to change completely because four idiots are bothered by noise.
    So face it.
There will be failures, mobile disco and nightlife.

Dani, start studying, the misspelling you've done hurts the reader's sensitivity.
Denia is a boring place. Young people, there are, no longer know what to do to have fun. There is no leisure. There is no cinema, no theater, nor do they promote culture in any way. Since they govern, they have turned into a boring and dirty town.
It seems very good to me that people want to have fun. If the city council doesn't promote it, which does nothing at all, people look for it on their own. It's called survival!
If you want to stay at home, the houses will have to be soundproofed, because the town hall passes three towns of everything. Enjoy what you voted for!

    • Luis says:

To give licenses to entertainment venues, with music, music bars, etc. By law, these venues need to be conditioned, soundproofed, emergency exits, etc. If the City Council allows them to open and function in any way, that is the problem. Look at everything that is needed to set up a Musical Bar or a Discotheque. They are turning a blind eye to something. How many of these places have security measures for their customers? People go there and don't even know it.

  3. Brigitte says:

A kilometer from the city center is the same at the noise level. I don't see the police too. It's crazy, there is no disco, but inside the residence communities rented by tourists.

  4. Luis says:

That's nothing you really come up with and it's already started. They are going to gentrify Denia with tourist apartments and they are not even realizing it. The Barrio de les Roques is the main objective, the one in Baix la Mar is almost complete.

  5. Trish says:

all right. It seems that we have normalized even the most annoying, and it seems that we must now assume the right to rest, neither day nor night. That not all restaurants are used to enjoy good food, a pity, because we have it here and it is good. Perhaps, what is allowed is a good party! Music and megaphones included, and whistles, uff don't miss them, they are the soul of the party!!! That the night voices do not matter, until dawn! It doesn't matter if the pedestrian streets are used by 90% for everything, except for their purpose. Wonderful, getting better and better. In short, to normalize... what we should not normalize, of course, like so many other things.

  6. Pink says:

I fully agree with what was expressed in the article, the party prevails after hours and in places that are not suitable for people to rest.
It is very unfair. I think there should be more control by the local police.

  7. Lluis says:

This government has 4 years to make Denia an example of a Mediterranean municipality with quality of life. For that, you must end these scourges

    • Marili buch says:

Agree with everything. Soundproof premises first premise for its opening.
What good are the houses, if after a week they close the street, so they can go out to dinner under a tent? This, more than a party, would be said to be a whorehouse

      • Pep says:

You can always go to live in a town in danger of depopulation that will thank you Denia and the town in danger of depopulation

    • Marili buch says:

They won't let me post anything, I must be on the blacklist. Long live freedom of expression

      • joan verdu says:

Yes of course, because everyone knows how important and important your opinions are. The number of revolutions they have provoked, your words show us the way. It is not strange that from the most important offices of the Beiderberg club they have made some call to the newsroom to try to cover (without success, of course, you are small) your mouth with censorship that prevents the world from suffering a new ideological uproar with your contributions.

    • Luis says:

Quality of life, yes, they have already signed a contract for Balearia to build a Liquefied Natural Gas plant. To all this I thought that Balearia was a shipping company.

    • Jopelin says:

This government (misgovernment) has already had four years and now thanks to its voters it has another four years to finish annoying it

    • Lucia says:

If there is a regulation on noise or maximum decibels allowed, why is it not enforced? And if not, what are the regulations for? As decoration? It is completely uncivil.
