Creama PFQB students receive their diplomas in Dénia

21 June 2023 - 15: 41

The Mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, the councilor of Creama, María José García, and the manager of Creama, Rosario Donderis, have delivered the accrediting diplomas to the students of the four Basic Qualification Training Programs (PFQB). Of the 54 young people between the ages of 16 and 21 enrolled, 47 have passed the program, 23 more than the previous year. Of them, 10 are in the process of obtaining a contract and 80% have requested access to medium-level vocational training studies, according to Donderis.

The four programs - auxiliary trade activities; auxiliary support activities for ships in port; auxiliary activities for the maintenance and improvement of mountains; and auxiliary operations in the organization of activities and operation of sports facilities- have been financed by a subsidy from the Department of Education of 178.800 euros (44.700 euros per program), an amount that has increased by 19.382 euros compared to the previous year. The programs are intended to reduce absenteeism and school dropout among young people and encourage their incorporation into the world of work or the resumption of studies. Of the 47 people who have completed one of the programs, the age of majority was 17 (46,8%), followed by students aged 16, 18 and 20 (around 15% each).

As Donderis has commented, for the 2023/2024 academic year the auxiliary operations program for assembly and maintenance of microcomputer systems will be implemented, which will increase the number of places to 75 among the five programs. For his part, Grimalt has highlighted the effort that the students have made, highlighting the importance of FP studies, socially discredited compared to university students, according to his words. In her first act as Councilor for Creama, María José García highlighted the illusion shared between the students, the teaching team and those people who work so that this type of training is carried out. The previous mayor, Sandra Gertrudix, has accompanied the delivery of the diplomas in the form of dismissal from office. Two students from the programs closed the event with words of gratitude to the teachers and recalling "our years at Creama" with humor and affection.
