The immense possibilities of Alcalalí almond are exhibited in the Mercat de Dénia

Alcalalí, in the interior of the Marina Alta, allocates the 50% of its agricultural land to the cultivation of almonds, with a predominance of the autochthonous variety rumbeta. This product so ours was the protagonist, last Friday, of the second day Menja't the Navy which was held in the Municipal Market of Dénia.

For a few hours, the public was able to see the products of «Flor de Alcalalí» and to taste sweets -Coca, mantecados, marzipan, spiced almonds and pastissets, among others- made with almonds by the Forn Rosanna of Alcalalí, run by Rosana Aramendi.

Menja’t la Marina dio a conocer el proyecto Alcalalí en Flor, impulsado por el Ayuntamiento de Alcalalí para potenciar el valor del cultivo del almendro, crear un valor compartido en torno a la actividad agraria y mejorar la actividad económica, el medio ambiente y la calidad de vida de la población. En el marco del proyecto, se ha constituido la Sociedad Agraria de Transformación (SAT) Labradores de Alcalalí, integrada por el momento por una docena de agricultores que trabajan juntos en la producción y comercialización de la almendra alcalalina, que comercializan bajo la marca «Flor de Alcalalí». Este año, la SAT ha producido 2.200 kilogramos de almendra, de la que se han envasado alrededor de 600 kilogramos para la comercialización.

 
The activity counted with the presence and support of the Mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, the Councilor for Agriculture of Alcalalí, Álex Romà, the president of the SAT Labradores de Alcalalí, Elías Andrés and the producers Faustino Mestre and Miguel Andrés. Likewise, they collaborated with Rosana Aramendi to offer tasting of the product students of the IES Maria Ibars.

La próxima jornada de Menja’t la Marina tendrá lugar el viernes 29 de diciembre, a las 10:30 horas, y estará dedicada a la naranja de Dénia. El cocinero Pep Romany, del restaurante Pont Sec de Dénia, will prepare a recipe with the orange as the main ingredient.
