The immense possibilities of Alcalalí almond are exhibited in the Mercat de Dénia

Alcalalí, inside the Marina Alta, allocates 50% of its agricultural land to the cultivation of almonds, especially the native variety predominating rumbeta. This product so ours was the protagonist, last Friday, of the second day Menja't la Marina which was held in the Municipal Market of Dénia.

For a few hours, the public was able to see the products of "Alcalalí Flower" and to taste sweets -Coca, mantecados, marzipan, spiced almonds and pastissets, among others- made with almonds by the Forn Rosanna of Alcalalí, run by Rosana Aramendi.

Menja't la Marina unveiled the Alcalalí project in Flor, promoted by the Alcalalí City Council to enhance the value of almond tree cultivation, create shared value around agricultural activity and improve economic activity, the environment and the quality of life of the population. Within the framework of the project, the Agrarian Transformation Society (SAT) Labradores de Alcalalí has ​​been established, currently composed of a dozen farmers working together in the production and marketing of the Alcalalina almonds, which they sell under the brand "Flor of Alcalalí ". This year, the SAT has produced 2.200 kilograms of almond, of which about 600 kilograms have been packaged for commercialization.


 
The activity counted with the presence and support of the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, the Councilor for Agriculture of Alcalalí, Álex Romà, the president of the SAT Labradores de Alcalalí, Elías Andrés and the producers Faustino Mestre and Miguel Andrés. Likewise, they collaborated with Rosana Aramendi to offer the product tasting of IES Maria Ibars students.

The next day of Menja't la Marina will take place on Friday, December 29, at 10:30 am, and will be dedicated to the orange of Dénia. The chef Pep Romany, from the restaurant Pont Sec de Dénia, will prepare a recipe with the orange as the main ingredient.
