The debts of the Generalitat endanger the continuity of Aprosdeco

28 September 2012 - 03: 12

The Association for the Mentally Handicapped of the Marina Alta, Aprosdeco, which currently manages a supervised home in the region, located in the Cervantes school building; the Occupational Center of La Xara, the Special Employment Center-Industrial Laundry and the Leisure Club, could disappear.

And it is that the Generalitat Valenciana owes this association close to 430.000 euros of annuities 2011-2012. This was explained yesterday by the spokesman of the association, José Luís Guntiñas, in which it was the first day of closure of the three that will star until tomorrow as a sign of protest.

48.800 euros of debt in the sheltered housing, more than 45.400 of the Office of the Year 2011 and more than 317.000 euros of 2012; 15.000 euros to the Special Employment Center and around 1.700 euros to the Leisure Club. A debt too astronomical to be able to cope with payments to suppliers and workers, who are currently facing the available resources.

The debts of the Generalitat also cause the shutdown of workshops and planned activities, such as the expansion of the Employment Center or the creation of a new sheltered housing.

In addition to closures are starring at supramunicipal level, daily pancakes at the door of the Ministry, and a gathering and assembly of citizens to be held on 11 in October. Several of its members attended the regular plenary with t-shirts and protest stickers that were distributed among councilors of the municipal corporation, who did not hesitate to support the cause.

Aprosdeco was created in 1974 year, has around 130 partners and serves 75 people in the region.
