Traffic in the urban center of Dénia is about to encounter a new barrier that will close a neighborhood to the passage of vehicles. An electronic pylon is already in the middle of a road, waiting for the final preparations to be finalized to rise and force respect for what the vertical signs have indicated for months: access only for residents.
As this newspaper advanced, Sant Josep Street already has an automatic bollard that will prevent the access of vehicles other than the residences in the area. In this way, the "access only for residents" in force since the remodeling of the center of Dénia and which few paid attention to, will be enforced.
Starting next February, this car and truck filter will begin to operate, closing access to both part of Sant Josep street and all of Carrer Major, Cavallers, Carreró de Morand and Carrer de la Moreria.
The controls will be distributed among the residents of the affected streets so that they can continue using them, as well as among the emergency services and taxi drivers. In addition, there will be a schedule when the bollard will be lowered to allow loading and unloading tasks in the area.
