The Xarxa de Dones of the Marina Alta is manifested by the rights of women

8 ahead of the March, International Women's Day, the Network of Marina Alta Dones was expressed yesterday evening to celebrate the 100 years that women have been claiming equality.

Around 150 people gathered at the roundabout, from where, accompanied by the Dolçaines and Tabals de la Xara colla, they left along Marqués de Campo street to Castell d'Olimbroi Square, where they read a claim.

Pau López, a member of the Network of gifts, began by recalling the story: when the 8 March 1911, more than one million women took to the streets demanding social and labor rights in what was the first International Women's Day and that, despite the passage of time and what has been achieved, they are far from equated with man.

The manifesto particularly stressed the demand for measures ranging from investment in public services to the distribution of wage and domestic labor, or the need to match the time spent men and women caring for dependent people and raising children.

The and attending reading the manifesto applauded the complaint was made all kinds of discrimination, demanding respect for diversity and call for lesbians, transsexuals and bisexuals become visible in all areas of society and recognizing the role of women in history, economics, politics or any field of knowledge.

In definitva, an act of union and respect for the rights of women to be neither more nor less than man. Just the same.
