The Xarxa de Dones of the Marina Alta is manifested by the rights of women

In anticipation of March 8, International Women's Day, the Xarxa de Dones de la Marina Alta demonstrated yesterday afternoon to celebrate the 100 years that women have been demanding equality.

Around 150 people gathered in Glorieta, Where, accompanied by colla Dolçaines i Tabals of Xara, left by the Calle Marques de Campo to the Plaza Castell d'Olimbroi, where they read a protest manifesto.

Pau López, a member of the Network of gifts, began by recalling the story: when the 8 March 1911, more than one million women took to the streets demanding social and labor rights in what was the first International Women's Day and that, despite the passage of time and what has been achieved, they are far from equated with man.

The manifesto particularly stressed the demand for measures ranging from investment in public services to the distribution of wage and domestic labor, or the need to match the time spent men and women caring for dependent people and raising children.

The and attending reading the manifesto applauded the complaint was made all kinds of discrimination, demanding respect for diversity and call for lesbians, transsexuals and bisexuals become visible in all areas of society and recognizing the role of women in history, economics, politics or any field of knowledge.

In definitva, an act of union and respect for the rights of women to be neither more nor less than man. Just the same.
