Holy Week, the best time to get to know the Iberian site of Alt de Benimaquia

22 March 2018 - 07: 43

One of the archaeological gems of the Marina Alta is the Alto de Benimaquia, a unique fortification that housed some of the oldest wine presses in the Iberian Peninsula (7th century BC). This site will be the destination chosen by the EATIM Xara and the Delegation of Culture of the City of Dénia for this Holy Week.

Both entities propose, between the 24 days of March and the 8 of April, a range of visits with expert guides in the archaeological site of Alto de Benimaquia.

Visitors will receive a dissemination sheet, in Spanish or Valencian, 36 pages with plans and photographic resources, where they will discover the status of the archaeological research developed over more than a century in the field and, by extension, the footprint of the Iberians in the Sierra del Montgó.

Registration must be formalized at the Archaeological Museum of Denia. Information and reservations: 966420260 (from 10.30 to 13hi from 16 to 19h, from Tuesday to Saturday).
