Holy Week, the best time to get to know the Iberian site of Alt de Benimaquia

One of the archaeological jewels that the Marina Alta It is the Alto de Benimaquia, a unique fortification that housed one of the oldest wine presses in the Iberian Peninsula (XNUMXth century BC). This site will be the destination chosen by EATIM la Xara and the Delegation of Culture of the Dénia City Council for this Holy Week.

Both entities propose, between the 24 days of March and the 8 of April, a range of visits with expert guides in the archaeological site of Alto de Benimaquia.
 
Visitors will receive a dissemination sheet, in Spanish or Valencian, 36 pages with plans and photographic resources, where they will discover the status of the archaeological research developed over more than a century in the field and, by extension, the footprint of the Iberians in the Sierra del Montgó.

Visits with expert guides will be made on 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 31 days in March and 8 in April, all at 10 hours.
 
Access to the starting point of the routes from the Dénia road to Jávea (CV 735), at kilometer 2, in front of the train stop of the Alicante-Dénia de la Xara line. The beginning of the path of Benimaquia is located next to the La Xara Occupational Center.
 
The duration of the visit is 3 hours and it is recommended that participants wear suitable shoes for ascending mountain trails.
