The importance of the nautical sector in the local and regional economy becomes clear after knowing the latest figures for job creation. According to the director of the Puerto Deportivo Marina de Denia, Gabriel Martínez, recreational and tourism sailing, currently generates 600 jobs in Dénia.
It is a pillar of weight and strategically very valuable that demonstrates the importance that this sector acquires year after year. Moreover, the Dénia Marina is a national pioneer in the management of nautical tourism as a tool to generate employment and wealth in the area by generating a high-level tourism capable of generating significant investments.
According to the latest known figures, nowadays, sailing represents an 1% of GDP at the state level, generating a stable, quality and lasting employment. In this sense, from the marina it is highlighted that the nautical workers have higher than average wages, thus allowing young people in the region to get quality jobs without leaving the territory.
Activities such as XI Dénia Boat Show, which will be held from 27 from April to 1 in May, promote the development of nautical companies in the area, with the aim of generating a powerful domestic market and attracting the resident market, so that they trust local companies at the time to acquire boats.
