23 September 2011 - 12: 30

Starting from the Tourist Office, next to which are the first remains of walls visible to visitors, the department of culture of the City of Dénia create a tourist trail that loops through the remains of what was once the wall of Fortí.

It is a journey of more than one kilometer to continue for the Rose Garden, the Rotes Road to Joan Fuster, where you can see two serviced plots with traces of streets, Finca de Buigues, C / Amalthea and Camí PAW, to the west canvas, which runs parallel to the Camí dels Lladres to Joan Fuster.

The project, which is in a first phase of cleaning and adaptation, was presented this morning by the municipal archaeologist, Josep Antoni Gisbert, and the councilor of culture, Pepa Font. The idea is to expose the remnants of wall that remain, more than one meter deep, and prepare an easy and comfortable signage for the visitor and differentiate the tourist offer of Dénia from the usual sun and beach, extolling the heritage that alone Can be found in our city: walls over 1.000 years witness the moment of maximum splendor of the city. Both the archaeologist and the councilor have spoken of a term between 3 and 4 years for the completion of the route.

Excavations have been made possible through collaboration aa private companies ARPO Spain and Dénia LONG Millenium Housing, responsible for the design and the ride was Alberto Morera. The archeology department of the City Council has overseen the process.
