The Wall of Fortí will become a cultural tourism itinerary

Starting from the Tourist Office, next to which are the first remains of walls visible to visitors, the department of culture of the City of Dénia create a tourist trail that loops through the remains of what was once the wall of Fortí.

It is a route of more than a kilometer that would continue through the Rosaleda, the Carretera de the Routes to Joan Fuster, where you can see two urbanized plots with remains of streets, Finca de Buigues, C / Amaltea and Camí de la Patà, up to the western canvas, which runs parallel to the Camí dels Lladres to Joan Fuster.

The project, which is in a first cleaning step and adaptation, was presented this morning by the municipal archaeologist, Josep Antoni Gisbert, and the Councilor for Culture, Pepa Font. The idea is to expose the remains of walls that remain, more than one meter deep, and prepare an easy and convenient signage for visitors and differentiate tourism in Dénia usual sun and sand, extolling the heritage only can be found in our city walls over the years 1.000 witnesses moment of maximum splendor of the city. Excavations have been made possible through collaboration aa private companies ARPO Spain and Dénia LONG Millenium Housing, responsible for the design and the ride was Alberto Morera. The archeology department of the City Council has overseen the process.
