Most Handicapped parking Dénia non-compliant

A report prepared by the Local Police on the regulatory signage and location of reserved parking for people with reduced mobility in the municipality of Dénia has concluded that most parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities are badly marked, or have a signaling incomplete or do not comply with the regulatory measures.

In Dénia, La Xara and Jesús Pobre there are currently 100 places for people with disabilities who have entered to form part of a detailed inventory that will allow the Department of Citizen Security to adapt them to the current legislation that establishes that these places must be marked both horizontally and Vertically. The vertical signage must contain the international accessibility symbol accompanied by a supplementary panel showing the statutory prohibition of stopping and parking except for persons with reduced mobility and warn of crane removal of the vehicle that improperly parked in these areas.

The area councilor, Javier Scotto, Presented the results of the study to the informative committee of Citizen Security held this week with the objective of "make the city accessible to people with functional diversity, so we must adapt these parking lots to the regulations so that they comply with the regulatory signage and verify that their location is ideal."
