Fundació Baleària joins a European project aimed at training older people in the use of digital tools

Fundació Baleària has signed an agreement to join as an associate partner of the company Tradigenia de Dénia, which is part of the European project Digital Acces. This project, which began in the year 2017 and of which seven partners from six European countries are part, aims to provide older people with the necessary digital skills to access public services online.

One of the project's objectives Digital Acces is to create a platform e-learning y e-assistance that integrates a virtual assistance tool to facilitate the learning of the necessary skills for digital literacy.

The agreement reached between the Baleària Foundation and Tradigenia, the project partner in Spain, aims to contribute to the dissemination of the project results and the organization of international meetings in Dénia. “The purpose of this project, which will be carried out until 2019, is for the elderly to be able to take advantage of the benefits of the internet, providing them with the necessary learning so that they feel safe using online tools to manage their health and quality of life ”, explained Javier Díez, managing partner of Tradigenia.

Ricard Pérez, manager of the Baleària Foundation, has shown his satisfaction for the agreement reached that integrates the Baleària Foundation in a European project that will contribute to improving the training in digital skills of the elderly that is now in a disadvantageous situation regarding other groups "that are part of the digital age or have already been born in it." “Digital skills are called to be the key to access the vast majority of basic services. For this reason, we assume the challenge of contributing to disseminate and facilitate that this tool in which it is working reaches the maximum number of population possible to provide it with the necessary skills to defend itself digitally in its day-to-day life, ”he commented.
