The Primary Care Nursing of the Department of Health of Dénia collaborates in a study on Telenursing

26 October 2022 - 12: 52

The Dénia Health Department Nursing is collaborating with the Miguel Hernández University of Elx in "Telesalud", a Telenursing project in Primary Care, applied to patients with cardiometabolic problems.

For Daniel Monasor, a nurse at the Benissa Health Center, "the objective is to promote the use of mobile devices in self-care and measure the impact of online health solutions on the terminals of cardiometabolic and chronic respiratory patients over 45 years of age . In this way it is possible to monitor both the therapeutic indicators and the degree of involvement of each patient in their own self-care”.

In the "Telesalud" project, led by the Miguel Hernández University, it establishes a series of individualized therapeutic objectives, related to each pathology under study. In addition, patients also enter lifestyle, diet, exercise, blood pressure, oxygen saturation or capillary blood glucose measurements on their smartphone.

For its part, the nursing team monitors all these indicators, through notifications or alarms, in the event of registering any type of significant alteration in any of the indicators.

Self-care in the Department of Health of Dénia

The Department of Information Systems and Technologies of the Department of Health of Dénia is working on a series of mobile applications for certain chronic pathologies.

According to the Director of Information Systems and Technologies, Vicent Moncho, “we are going to begin, shortly, to use these self-care technologies in a pioneering descriptive study, led by Primary Care Nursing staff. The sample will be made with a thousand patients with chronic cardiovascular, endocrine and/or respiratory pathologies”.

Patients will always maintain direct contact with their nurse and doctor of reference, to whom they can notify any type of problem or doubt.
