Facilities at the special school Raquel Payà are obsolete for sixty students from throughout the region who daily come to the middle class. The Department has the center expansion project as a priority, but since the directive, headed Miquel Ivars, it has already passed the possibility of changing the expansion project for the creation of a new center in a new location.

As Dénia.com lead after last MayIn discussions with representatives of the Ministry it has manifested significant shortcomings that comprise the current building, which meets 2017 30 years and was conceived with the structure of an ordinary school. He explained the director, Miquel Ivars, the current centers have larger spaces to handle the material adapted students need, and they are on one level.

From the center they defend that the budgetary endowment with which the expansion project counts, of around 3,5 million euros, would be enough for the construction of a new building that would meet the needs of special education students. Ivars affirmed that, although from Conselleria they have not pronounced on this possible change of project, nobody has denied the possibility of taking it ahead, reason why they are shown hopeful with the attitude of the autonomic government, as well as by the support of the local government. The mayor, Vicent Grimalt, already showed in May his predisposition to provide a municipal land for the construction of this new building.

The expansion of the school was scheduled for the second half of 2016, but projects that are running on this in Valencia are late.
