Dénia Ministry proposes to construct a new building for Raquel Payà

The school board Raquel Payà and the city of Dénia have proposed to the Ministry that the expansion project Special Education Center Raquel Payà change and become building a new center for students.

At a meeting recently with the regional secretary of education, the school board said that the center has become obsolete. The building will meet next year 30 years and is no longer adapted to the real needs of a special education center. He explained the director, Miquel Ivars, the current centers have larger spaces to handle the material adapted students need, and they are on one level.

Current school facilities have been small. The hallways are very narrow and do not allow the passage of two people in wheelchairs. These obstacles are causing the problems that the elevator is currently out of service together. According to the center, with the budget with which the Department has to remodel the center, the order of 3,5 million euros, could build a new building that meets the real needs of its users and do "a patch" in these obsolete facilities.
