The woman who this morning fell from the top of the castle with her 8-month-old baby is admitted to the Hospital de Dénia In very serious condition. The baby was admitted next to his mother although at first sight he presented slight scratches according to eyewitness accounts.
The event happened when the 34-year-old woman of Romanian nationality was with her husband and baby visiting the castle of Dénia. When they were in the area that overlooks the courtyard where the Urban Planning Department is located, they rushed into the void. A drop of approximately 70 meters. The husband who witnessed the incident suffered an anxiety attack and was taken to hospital.
Quickly to the scene of the accident came the health services as well as a firefighter who was near the place of the fall and members of the police. It was the agents themselves who rescued the baby that was in the inner part of the protection network that is installed in the place. They cut the net and took the creature to the ambulance.
Later they looked for the mother in the zone of the interior of the network, but it was the firefighter who found it outside the network, proceeding the health services to its transfer to the ambulance that took it to the hospital
The reasons and causes of this accident are unknown until the moment the National Police has taken over the investigation.
