The mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, has held his first official meeting with the managing director of the Dénia Health Department, Ángel Giménez, at the Dénia Hospital.

At the meeting, which was also attended by the Councilor for Health, Cristina Morera, Grimalt explained to the manager of Marina Salud the aspects related to health care that raise the main demands of the public and which he already communicated to the Minister for Health Universal and Public Health, Carmen Montón, at the meeting held on August 20 in Valencia.

Among these issues, the mayor has referred to the lack of referral of patients from the region to Hospital Acute and Extended Stay (HACLE) of La Pedrera, the problem of queues at the emergency department of the Hospital of Denia and lack of substitutes to cover medical headlines holidays during the summer months.

The Mayor of Dénia hopes to address all these issues in an upcoming Xarxa d'Mayors of the Marina Alta which is also expected to attend the Regional Minister Carmen Heap and general director of Sanitary Inspectorate, María Luisa Roselló.
