Great interest in the days of disclosure of the bird species in our environment

Although the weather was not, divulging the conference and awareness of bird species that inhabit our natural environment last weekend of May 7 8 and counted they were held with full house in scheduled activities.

The days, organized by the company Magic & Nature and the Department of Environment of the City of Dénia, included observations of birds in the Marjal Pego-Oliva; a session Bird Banding by the bander expert from the SEO (Spanish Ornithological Society), Toni Zaragozí group; a visit to the Observatory of cetaceans and seabirds located at the end of Les Rotes and another to the Torre del Gerro, where participants could learn more about the consequences of the brutal fire that ravaged more than 400 hectares of Natural Park Montgó in 2014 year.

The last activity of this conference consisted of a catamaran out to the reserve of Cap de Sant Antoni. During the voyage they were observed flocks of shearwaters and cormorants in flight and breeding colonies.

The activities were completed with a conference aimed at professionals that was held on Monday, May 9. During the morning a series of talks was offered at the Municipal House of Culture and in the afternoon an excursion to the sea, guided by the marine environmental coordinator of the Department of the Environment, Toni Martínez, in which they could appreciate some of the environmental values from the coast, observe the nesting areas of seabirds and recognize some of these species by flight.
