Great interest in the days of disclosure of the bird species in our environment

Although the weather was not, divulging the conference and awareness of bird species that inhabit our natural environment last weekend of May 7 8 and counted they were held with full house in scheduled activities.

The days, organized by the company Magic & Nature and the Department of Environment of the City of Dénia, included observations of birds in the Marjal Pego-Oliva; a bird ringing session by the expert bander belonging to the SEO group (Spanish Ornithological Society), Toni Zaragozí; a visit to the Cetacean and Seabird Observatory located at the end of Les Rotes and another to the Torre del Gerro, where the participants were able to learn more details about the consequences of the brutal fire that devastated more than 400 hectares of the Natural Park Montgó 2014 the year.

The last activity of this conference consisted of a catamaran out to the reserve of Cap de Sant Antoni. During the voyage they were observed flocks of shearwaters and cormorants in flight and breeding colonies.

The activities were completed with a seminar aimed at professionals held on Monday, May 9. During the morning a series of talks offered in Municipal House of Culture and evening access to the sea, guided by marine environmental coordinator of the Department of Environment, Toni Martínez, where they could see some of the environmental values ​​of the coast, observe the nesting areas of seabirds and recognized by flight to some of these species.
