An intervention by the Alicante Provincial Firefighters Consortium in an urbanization in Dénia has concluded with the tragic loss of an elderly couple. The alert was received at 10:46, and the intervention is still underway in the affected home.
The incident involved a fire in a semi-detached house on the slopes of Montgó, where upon the arrival of the firefighters it was found that the house was already consumed by fire. According to initial assessments, the fire could have broken out several days ago. Inside the house, unfortunately, the lifeless bodies of a man and a woman, both between 70 and 80 years old, were found.
The response of the Provincial Consortium involved the mobilization of a command and leadership unit (UMJ), a heavy urban bomb (BUP), a sergeant, a corporal and four firefighters from the Dénia park.
So far, no injuries have been reported as a result of the fire. However, the loss of human life marks a tragic episode for the city. Local authorities and emergency personnel continue to work at the scene to conduct investigations to determine the causes of the fire and the deaths of the residents.
