On the morning of Wednesday 30 in November the famed dermatologist José Terencio de las Aguas passed away in Dénia. With a long work experience and numerous acknowledgments, Terencio de las Aguas was Director of the Dermatological Dispensary of Denia 1961. But in his trajectory it emphasizes especially the work realized in the sanatorium of Fontilles.
There, Dr. José Terenzio of Waters was Medical Resident from 1953 to 1964, the year he assumed the sub-center. In 1967 he was named Patron of Fontilles and of 1968 1999 assumed the medical direction of the sanatorium.
The doctor was responsible for the Leprology Magazine and of the international courses during all that time. In addition, he was an advisor to the International Leprosy Society and a member of the World Health Organization, as an expert in the disease of leprosy.
