The first sea storm of the summer was experienced during the day yesterday, forcing to prohibit bathing in most of the Dianenses beaches. For a while, all the aid stations except Punta del Raset raised the red flag to warn of strong currents and waves of more than 2 meters.
And after the storm, as usual, the dirt arrives. Tons of seaweed and posidonia have accumulated along the Dénia coastline, forcing cleaning services to work non-stop at night.
In total, 160 tons have been removed, all of it concentrated on the beaches of Punta del Raset (20 tons), Marineta Cassiana (110) and El Trampolí (30). During the next few days you will continue the work along the entire coast, for which the City Council has asked for patience: "the posidonia deposited on the beach is nothing more than a sign of good health and the biodiversity that characterizes the waters".
