Minister of Foreign Affairs in office, José Manuel García-Margallo, Saturday visited Denia to meet with supporters and members of the Popular Party on the occasion of the election campaign in which the country is immersed.

García-Margallo, linked for over 50 years ago Marina Alta, which spends the summer with his family, was accompanied on his visit by José Císcar and Deputy Eduardo Dolón tourism promotion. After a meeting at the headquarters with members of the PP and dianenses councilors Ana Kringe, María Mut, Pepa Sivera and Fran Vives, Acting Minister visited the bustling Mercat Municipal, where he took the opportunity to greet buyers and sellers.

Asked about the results that reflect the latest surveys of the CIS, with Podemos exceeding the PSOE in intention to vote, García-Margallo said that a government of Pablo Iglesias would be «socialmente una calamidad».

The solution to this situation for the popular minister is in the hands of the socialist Pedro Sánchez, since the PP consider that only has two options: «abstenerse y dejar gobernar al bloque constitucionalista o apoyar el gobierno rupturista de Pablo Iglesias».

García-Margallo is clear that «nadie va a tener mayoría absoluta» in these elections, but the important thing is «hacer un gobierno que tenga la mayoría suficiente para poder realizar las modificaciones necesarias para el país». That is why it appeals to the only viable solution for the Popular Party: a government agreement between PP, PSOE and citizens. But first, citizens must exercise their right to vote, on Sunday June 26.
