Minister García-Margallo affirms in Dénia that a government of Podemos would be socially "a calamity"

11 June 2016 - 14: 08

The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel García-Margallo, visited Dénia on Saturday to meet with supporters and members of the Party on the occasion of the electoral campaign in which the country is immersed.

García-Margallo, linked for more than 50 years to the Marina Alta, where he spends the summer with his family, was accompanied on his visit by José Císcar and the deputy for tourism promotion Eduardo Dolón. After a meeting at the headquarters with the affiliates of the PP and the Dianense councilors Ana Kringe, María Mut, Pepa Sivera and Fran Vives, the acting minister visited the bustling Mercat Municipal, where he took the opportunity to greet buyers and sellers.

Asked about the results that reflect the latest CIS surveys, with We can beating the PSOE In intention to vote, García-Margallo affirmed that a government of Pablo Iglesias would be "socially a calamity". For the minister, "a government headed by Iglesias would imply questioning the unity of Spain with a referendum in Catalonia", And a "economic change of the first magnitude that would follow the Greek or Venezuelan model". García-Margallo said "It would be dramatic for the EU to have a communist social model in the fourth economy of the Union".

The solution to this situation for the popular minister is in the hands of the socialist Pedro Sánchez, since the PP consider that only has two options: "to abstain and let the constitutionalist bloc govern or support the rupturist government of Pablo Iglesias".

García-Margallo is clear that "nobody is going to have an absolute majority" in these elections, but the important thing is "make a government that has the majority to be able to make the necessary modifications to the country". That is why it appeals to the only viable solution for the Popular Party: a government agreement between PP, PSOE and citizens. But first, citizens must exercise their right to vote, on Sunday June 26.

  3. ELP says:

Mr. Minister, are you going to guarantee that those people who unfortunately belong to your party, or at least have belonged? Let the emerging parties, which after all are the result of your mismanagement, and that of someone else, try to solve what you have not done because it has not interested them. Furthermore, it is not bad that they lack experience, they have not yet learned to steal, nor do I think they will try, at least that is what the Spanish people hope. Don't scare the town anymore please. They have no tails, they are not demons, they try to be sociable, they want us all to have jobs, housing, food, rights, opportunities for their families…. etc. That's bad?
