The best cinema, in its shortest format, returns to Dénia with the Riurau Film Festival

The Torrecremada Park becomes, once again, a large open-air cinema to receive the Riurau Film Festival on August 26 and 27. In this cinephile event, the twelfth edition of the international short film exhibition, 18 pieces by national and international directors can be viewed for free in the park.

The appointment with the cinema will continue in the auditorium theater of the Social Center on August 27, at 11:00, the date on which short films made at the Marina Alta as A summer with Carolina (Jairo Gonzalez) God save you Maria (Jose Miguel Idigoras) Flourish (Alexandra Iglesias), Eyebrows (Moretti Molina and Diego Tamayo), little loneliness (Jo Garcia Garrido) and eixida (Llorenç G. Estellés). After viewing the works, there will be a round table made up of the directors and producers of the short films to reflect on the film industry in the Marina Alta, which will be presented by José María Fraguas de Pablo.

In addition, on August 25, at 12:00, at the Social Center, Dénia will host the II Dance Film Seminar, in which Rafael Arnal, Joan Bernat Pineda, Isabel Arquero, Rubén Díaz de Greñú, Diego Martínez, Eva Fernández, Anna Perles and Isabel Bilbao.

While on September 2, at the Gran Riurau de Jesús Pobre, at 22:30 p.m., the prizes and diplomas will be delivered to the winners in the different categories of the contest. This year, nearly 800 shorts have been presented, of which 39 will compete for awards for best script, best Ciudad de Dénia short film direction, best art direction or the special jury prize, among others. The organization highlights the great diversity of nationalities among the creative people, 33 in total.

To end the programming in the municipality, on September 4 and 5, at the Center for Artistic Creation, from 18:00 p.m. to 22:00 p.m., the Youth Filming and Editing Course will be taught. This training is designed for young people from 12 years old.

The Riurau Film Festival has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the Riurau Film School and the town halls of Dénia, Xàbia and Jesús Pobre, and sponsored by the Alicante Provincial Council, the Generalitat Valenciana and the Valencian Institute of Culture.
